About the Journal
HEXAPODA (ISSN 0973-8592 for print) is one of the leading journals in entomological science started in 1989 as Hexapoda (Insecta Indica) and was published biannually by Indian Academy of Entomology until 2023. From 2023 onwards, the Entomological Society of India has taken over as publisher of HEXAPODA as an online journal.
HEXAPODA publishes high-quality original articles and reviews on various aspects of entomology – both basic and applied covering:

The Journal covers mites, ticks, spiders and other arthropods (also birds, snails and slugs, rodents, sometimes if relevant) as components of Entomology covering agriculture, forestry, veterinary and medical sciences. The journal publishes research articles, research communications and reviews (including invited reviews).
The papers submitted must be of potential interest to a significant number of scientists and research scholars, if specific to a local situation, must be relevant to a wide body of knowledge in entomology. Articles should make a significant contribution to the advancement of knowledge or towards a better understanding of existing concepts. An international and national Editorial Board advises the journal and helps in stringent peer review process.

The journal is listed in NAAS with rating 2.72 with JRNID H043 (2024). The papers published in this journal are selectively abstracted/ indexed in Zoological Record.
